A seminar was held on 2nd December 2025 for the Semester 3 and Semester 5 students, along with the faculty members of the Computer Science Department of Vidyasagar College. The session was conducted by Mr. Sanjoy Das, Senior Technical Leader of CISCO, San Jose, USA. He gave students an engaging introduction to the world of cyber security, explaining how even simple everyday devices can become vulnerable, why network components are so important for secure communication, and how cyber threats have grown more complex over the years. Using examples from his long professional journey heal so shared valuable insights into the real challenges faced while securing large systems.
During the interactive part of the seminar, Mr. Das answered students’ questions and discussed the rising impact of Artificial Intelligence. He encouraged students to learn how to develop AI systems instead of depending on them for everyday academic tasks, stressing that these skills will be essential in the coming years.
In his closing message, here minded students not to restrict themselves to text book learning, but to look beyond the syllabus and gain real-world experience to truly develop their skills. Overall, the seminar was highly informative and helped students connect classroom knowledge with practical understanding of cyber security and AI.
