Seminars
The College organizes seminars and popular talks on varied
topics of academic and social interest where students and
teachers have the opportunity to interact. Eminent educationalists
are invited as resource persons to deliver lectures on different
subjects. Advanced students of different honours courses are
also asked to participate in the seminars on competitive basis.
Medical Health Services
First aid Boxes are available in all departments. The college has set up a Health Care Unit, open on Tuesdays and Fridays to provide heath care services to both students, staff members and teachers. Students of the college are members of the Student Health Home and can avail of both indoor and outdoor medical facilities at nominal cost.
Computer Centre
Vidyasagar College Computer Centre is accredited by the Department of Electronics. Government of India, for conducting DOEC “A” and “O” level courses those are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Directorate of Employment, Government of West Bengal, has recognized the course. The computer center is governed by an academic committee. The Computer Centre is run with assistance from Institute of Computer Engineering India & British Institute, Kolkata.
National Service Scheme
Vidyasagar College participates in the National Service Scheme under Calcutta University, sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. A Program Officer assisted by an Advisory Committee overseas the NSS activities. The aims and objectives of the NSS include involving urban and rural youth in constructive development programs in the rural sector, participation in the sub-economic life of the community, fostering national integration and such other activities. Every year, volunteers from among the students are enrolled and after completion of 120 hours of work, certificates are awarded by the College.
National
Cadet Corps
Students of Vidyasagar College are associated with National
Cadet Corps (NCC) since 1948. NCC students of the college
have been participating in various activities including national
and state level programs, Republic Day Parade, summer camps,
mountaineering camps and annual training camps.

Sport and Games
The college has a spacious common room for students with indoor game facilities like Table Tennis, Carom etc. The college is fortunate to have a share in the large ground at the Marcus Square for outdoor games like cricket, football and volleyball. The students regularly participate in various outdoor sports. The annual college sports are regularly held during winter. |
Social and Cultural activities
A host of social and cultural activities mark the college calendar. The student’s union actively helps the college authority in arranging annual sports, social and cultural meet, in according welcome to the freshmen, holding interclass debates, cultural and literary competitions. All these activities aim at developing a sense of fraternity among students of the college and to make them good citizens. The Alumni Association takes active interest in various social and cultural activities. |

Students’ Cheap Store & Canteen
The college a well stocked cheap store from which students can buy books and other study materials at low cost. The college also has a canteen facilities for the teachers, staff members and the students.
