Vidyasagar College is a living monument of the untiring labours of Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar. This is the first private college held its own place in the field of education. A great many eminent sons of India from various walks of life have been associated with this college, either as students, teachers or as administrators and committee members. It was the great Indian educationalist and social reformer Pandit Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar who was associated with the College from its very inception in 1872.
